Depends on age: It is normal for girls to have fine (vellus) hair on the face. At puberty, some girls will develop a few dark (terminal) hairs as circulating hormones (estrogen, testosterone) increase. Heredity is a strong predictor of facial hair and it is common for women in certain ethnic groups. Heavy facial hair (hirsutism) is abnormal especially if accompanied by voice change, irregular periods and balding.

i've been breaking out, noticing darker hair on my neck/chin, & my lady area has been itching. i'm on bcp, what's going on? also who should i see?

GYN endocrinology: Androgenic changes. If menstrual periods are normal, hormones are probably normal. Genetic factors may be in play. OC progesterone might be a factor. If hormones are normal, no endocrine tumor, then the usual therapy is antiandrogen pill. Spironolactone at 100mg a day is a standard treatment.

i was born with a mole on my head, i was told. i have no idea where.i have long, thick, dark hair, and am female.is mole likely to turn into melanoma?

Statistically most: moles do not become melanoma. However, it should be checked periodically by you and by your doctor and/or a dermatologist. Certainly if you notice it changing, once you figure out where it is, you should definitely have it looked at.

i am a young female with thinning hair. my blood work is healthy but i am under lots of daily stress. can i massage my head to help it get more blood?

: Klonopin does not have that side effect by my knowledge. You should see your doctor for a possible hormonal imbalance, especially if you have irregular cycle.

Watch and wait: This may be similar to a birth mark and harmless. You may watch and wait. If the patch more than doubles in size, , becomes irregular in size, shape or color, bleeds, ulcerates or develops a nodule, see a doctor.

Pearly penile papule: these are benign growths on the side of the glans penis, they are NOT sexually transmitted disease, or cancerous,some people are worried and want  to have them removed  ; However, it is not necessary to do so

i m 16 year old female and i have a dandruff like small spot (about 1in) in my head .when i remove it my skin turns pinkish.  is it  dermatitis ???

Eczema or psoriasis: I am not a dermatologist and not an expert on skin conditions.  However, this sounds like either eczema or psoriasis.  When you have the patch but before you scrape it, make an appointment with a dermatologist.

Nevus: You likely have a nevus or freckle either genetic or due to a previous injury; extremely unlikely to be melanoma. See MD if concerned.

dark skin black female. i take care of my skin,  but it's two-toned. is there anything i can do to even out my skin tone from head to toe? otc?

Accepted Answer

Get more tan?: Bleaching is usually not the good option for evening out the skin tone but perhaps more tanning may help if you do not mind having an even darker skin.   If you do not want to go the tanning route, I wonder if a spray-tan may be helpful.  I presume that the lighter parts of your skin is not totally white since vitiligo is considered an autoimmune problem.
