Post operative pain: It is common to have incision pain after surgery. Pain in the groin can be also caused by nerve entrapment, and scar tissue that forms. If there is vomiting at times one should be on the lookout for fibrous bands of tissue that can develop which can lead to a partial obstruction of the bowel. Constipation following surgery can also lead to the groin pain that has developed.

Maybe: Slight bleeding could be from hemorrhoids or other anal condition. Cirrhosis can cause abnormally enlarged veins to occur in the gastrointestinal tract that could bleed. Side Effects: The answer to your questions depends on the side effects you are having. Small bowel resection can affect stool transit time as well as nutrient absorption. Adhesions from any abdominal procedure may be a source of discomfort for some. I suggest you speak to your primary care doc about your symptoms to identify the most likely source of your symptoms. From there you can make a plan.

Depends on : Extent and part of resection.  Diarrhea can occur if ileum is resected more commonly than jejunum.  Even jejunum if is more than, say, 1/3.  But compensatory hyperplasia can occur, so it should improve over time.  Ask a gastroenterologist for a formal opinion.

: What was the reason for small bowel resection? Are the polyps in the small intestine or in the colon? To my knowledge, there is no known effective measure for preventing the development of intestinal polyps.

: With a prominent upper abdominal "bulge" in the area of the surgical incision,  a hernia may have occurred due to separation of the fascia during the post-operative healing phase.  See the surgeon who performed the operation for an exam.

Bloating : Probably is microflora getting adjusted. I recommend a simple diet with soups, little milk or cheese, and trying a probiotic. If symptoms persist recommend seeing a surgeon again.
