day 8 post tonsillectomy: pain ears, jaw. foul odor, slime in mouth. no antibiotics post-op. cant eat. my dr wears a respirator to protect himself, isn't worried about infection for me? what do i do? im scared & dr isnt taking seriously?

Change toothpaste: Others have experienced a slimy or stringy substance in their mouths after brushing.  It seems more common after using toothpastes with whitening agents.  Some get it after using a mouthwash following brushing. I'd recommend trying a toothpaste designed to be more gentle.  Brush without toothpaste for 3 days, then restart with a gentler or "natural" toothpaste.  See your dentist if not resolving.

i have had a metallic and slimy kind of taste in my mouth. what could this be?

Metallic Tastes: You may have this taste as a side effect of medications you may be taking--specifically antibiotics.  It can also be caused by dehydration.  Less likely causes would be cystic fibrosis or accidental poisoning.  See your physician if this persists.

Mucus: It is likely mucus from glands in your mouth that produce it all day long.  If your listerine has alcohol in it then your mouth dries out and your body tries to make up for that.

Bacteria ?: The bacteria that normally lives in your mouth will adhere to your teeth and form a plaque. Do you feel this in the morning when you wake up? Does it come off when you brush your teeth? This is perfectly normal if it is plaque. You can have your dentist take a look if you would like to be sure.

Post nasal drip?: Does this interfere with exercise? Is there shortness of breath? Cough? If not, another possibility is that during your exercise, running, jumping or core-based exercise is causing stomach contents to splash up your esophagus; this irritation can trigger mucus build up in the back of your throat. Try watching what you eat or drink just before exercise. Avoid tea, lemon water and acidic drinks.

in the morning, i have thrush pretty bad, have to rince, my mouth, with water, for a couple, of minutes, to get the slime, out of my mouth. i think mouth thrush,is a fungus, is this correct. is water and baking soda ok to use.or is there medication?

: Most white coatings in the mouth are not yeast infection (thrush); and yeast is unlikely if not predisposed to it, e.g. immune deficiency, malnutrition. recent antibiotic treatment, and a few others.  In any case, you cannot and should not assume any particular cause without professional examination. See your doctor. Good luck.

5 weeks pregnant i ate chicken which was fried. i had my last bite which felt a little different in my mouth. i looked at the chicken & saw a a small part that was almost like a cartridge/ slimy.is this something of concern of i a small part of this?

Reflux: One possible explanation is reflux. If her growth is normal and she is gaining weight, feed at a 30-40 angle and slower feedings may be helpful. A formula thickening agent can be used to reduce reflux. Discuss treatment options and ruling out milk allergy with your pediatrician.  Most babies will outgrow reflux as they gain weight over time.
