i am taking fluoxetine-20 mg daily dose &  having problem in sleeping at night. i feel very sleepy at noon, after lunch.  can i take sleeping pill?

Side effect can be Anxiety, nervousness,  and Insomnia.
The medication works for 24 hours. By changing time, decreasing dose, and not using Alcohol; insomnia may not happen.

Discuss with Psychiatrist Diagnosis, benefits and side effects of Fluoxetine, decreasing the dose; Therapy, and if improve without taking a sleeping pill.

Surprise answer: Don't do either! one of the commonest causes of insomnia is the inordinate intake of sugar, pop, "junk", espcially caffeine. Try adjusting your diet. Stress can be helped a lot by learning to meditate. Sounds old fashioned? Well, it is and sometimes the old beats the new. Our collective health in america is absolutely awful and mainly related to diet, overwork (or under) and other forms of stress.

i have been on prozac medication for almost 2years. these last 5 months i have been getting short quick seizures before sleep. and they have been gradually increasing in frequency and intensity. should i be concerned?

: You are most likely experiencing myoclonic or hypnic jerks just before falling asleep. This is not a seizure disorder. These occur when you're half awake&amp; half asleep, are harmless and are not a health issue unless they occur during the daytime They have been caused by some medications including ssri's of which class of meds  prozac is. Common problem: Palpitations can be a sign of all different types of heart arrhythmias.  The greater majority are safe &amp; are common to most people at one point or another.  There are some palpitations that are more frequent with body position, at night, or during the onset/offset of some medications/foods, but people also tend to notice them more when they go to bed.  See your PCP for evaluation &amp; possible test.
