is sleeping on a hard floor good or bad for a person's back?

Probably not good: Our body/back is not straight or hard so hard floor not good.  Our body needs support during sleep and if you put a curved soft yet heavy body on blood, gravity will pull on it in directions you don't want and you wake up sore.

Neither: Just be careful with stretching out back of knees and pressure on heels for a prolonged time.

?bone injury: Bone injuries do not all show up right away on xrays.  You may need a scan.  Bone bruises can persist for 6-8 weeks but should be at least improving by now. Sounds like you need to be reevaluated if this persists

not unusual for me to wet the bed if i drink a lot or sleep too heavy..usually a good night sleep makes my back feel better..recently i've woken up wet. could flexing pelvic floor unconciously to try and not pee excacerbate a back pain issue?

: See a UROLOGIST for an exam and treatment. Medication can control your urination at night .Back pain is for an ORTHOPEDIST to treat not you.

Back pain: Warm moist heat (shower or a wet warm towel) can help reduce the pain and stiffness. Anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin can help too. Apply ice at night to reduce swelling. Perhaps, you can find a more comfortable place sleep tonight.

In General, No: For the most part, sleeping on your back is less than ideal for posture (it flattens the normal curvatures of the spine) and can also act to make disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea much worse by allowing the tissues of the mouth and neck to "fall backward" and block the breathing passages.  It is often better to sleep on one side or the other.  Take care and stay healthy!

Get on schedule: The best thing to do is get back to your normal schedule and get to bed at your regular time.  Avoid caffeine for a few hours before bedtime  and avoid naps.  It may take a few days of doing this before you are back on track.

Sleep: Sleep is driven by circadian and homeostatic drives. Identify your daily pattern by maintaining a sleep diary for 2 weeks or so, read about sleep hygiene, you can google sleep diary and sleep hygiene etc
sometimes melatonin and light therapy are used if you have delayed sleep phase or advanced sleep phase syndrome.

Sleep : Extra pillow under lower back while laying on your back, and as bonus, maybe pleasant theme on ceiling above your head.
