Depends: What kind of machine do you have these days most of the machines comes with auto check which adjust the pressure automatically, however you can get an oral appliance made with your CPAP and that lowers the pressure tremendously.

Possibly: Patients with sleep apnea will often sleep with their mouths open due to snoring and upper airway obstruction leading to dry mouth.  Regular use (6 hours per night on most nights) of a properly fitted CPAP alleviates the obstruction and may improve mouth dryness.  If you receive oxygen with your sleep mask, ask your provider for humidified oxygen which will also help with dryness.

This is probably...: Not directly related to the CPAP machine. How was the diagnosis of swollen esophagus made? He should have an egd performed by a gastroenterologist who would be better equipped to answer your question. The treatment with steroids could suggest eosinophilic esophagitis.

Careful: Some people with sleep apnea may have dry mouth which often leads to significant decay.   Make sure you drink plenty of water and talk to your dentist about constructing soft easy to wear trays that you can fill with Fluoride or mi paste to protect your remaining tooth structure from rampant decay. With extensive dentistry you should see your dentist- 4 or more times per year, .

Do you take your medication and follow directions of your doctor for your asthma? Does "don't like sleeping..." mean that you DON'T use your machine as you should? Then, you will feel tired and be breathless. And nobody will be able to fix it. "Just Do It."
