They can be traumatized if folded over for long periods of time or if the are pulled, but they do not become cancerous. A doctor can confirm the diagnosis to be certain it is not something else.

Atypical for warts: Certainly a skin tag could occur in this location, and genital warts usually don't appear singly -- i.e. without several such bumps, warts are less likely. Skin tags typically are soft and easily pushed around, whereas warts typically are fixed pretty firmly and less mobile. But if you remain uncertain, get checked. Better safe than sorry.

Epithelial polyp?: It sounds benign, very benign, and we want to rule out sarcoma botryoides and a couple of rarities. Phone your gynecologist and make an appointment now, but except that you'll be fine. Your anxiety alone is reason to be seen.

Possible HPV: HPV genital warts often present in that manner. They can be managed. I would check with your doc to see exactly what they are. They tend to be benign.
