i recently had a skin irritation on my eyelids. eyelids were red, itchy, dry and flaky. i used tobradex which eased irritation significantly but it still itches sometimes. i now have a similar irritation on my lips? how can i treat this?

Rinse eyes: You may have an irritant and contact inflammation or an allergic reaction. Wash your face and rinse your eyes with lukewarm water. Allergy eye drops are available over the counter. For your lip irritation consider an eczema lotion, and please follow up with your PCP. If there are any vision changes, please see a physician right away.

i am experiencing  skin redness or irritation around my lips after i eat, laugh, even kiss. this redness, when i'm not eating etc, is a brown pigmented line which looks like a distorted lip liner. this started 6 years ago as a small brown dot.

Melanin: It is possible that the small brown dot that initially appeared was melanin, the substance that is responsible for pigmentation in the skin and tissues of the body. The melanocytes are cells that produce melanin and some people can have brown pigmentation in the lips, as well as the tissues of the mouth.

R U circumcised?: Most common cause is pain from a tight foreskin, this might respond to prescription strength steroid cream applications or require circumcision. Could be due to candida or hpv if circumcised.

Skin irritation: It isn't really possible to make a recommendation about how to counter this skin irritation without understanding it better. Since, none of your efforts have made a difference, consider medical evaluation so that it can be better assessed.

Indirectly possible: This would really be a 'drool rash' caused by the shield of the binky allowing saliva to stay trapped next to the skin, not something caused by the binky its self.  Often when infants are teething they make excess saliva resulting in a drool rash on lips, cheeks and/or necks. This would happen even without the binky if they have lots of excess saliva.

Anything in scalp?: Be sure to look all over her scalp and also check for nits from lice. You can see photos of various scalp conditions, including lice, if you search on Google.

Unknown : It is difficult to answer this question without a better description of what the skin irritation may be. One condition that comes to which ca cause pain in the head and neck is shingles (herpes zoster, usually of the C2 nerve root). Other more minor and more serious conditions are certainly possible. Please consult your physician for further evaluation.

There : There are several creams to choose from. Many "higher end" over the counter creams are great and now there are some excellent prescription creams as well. Usually the entity performing the dermabrasion procedure has recommendations for the appropriate cream.
