Accepted Answer

Unpredictable: There is no certain way of knowing the cause of such a nodule that has grown in size. It is still more likely to be an active granuloma(infection, like fungus or tb) than a cancer. Either way it needs to be biopsied or removed surgically depending on the clinical picture and the location of the nodule.That is the only way to know if it is benign or malignant. Any if they grow: Lung nodules that are less than 5mm in size are not highly suspicious for cancer, but they should be followed over time.  Any lung nodule that grows over time is suspicious and requires biopsy or removal.  A radiologist knows which features of lung nodules make them suspicious for cancer.  If they are not clearly concerning for cancer, the doctor will order repeated imaging to compare over time.

No treatment: You seem to have nodular goitre. No treatment if TSH normal. Check TSH back every 6 months again. If abnormal then will need treatment.

It is too small!: Small nodules in the Adrenal gland do not require any immediate treatment if they are asymptomatic and found incidentally(Incidentaloma ). If the nodule increases to a size of &gt;10 mm (1CM), then it will require periodic monitoring, perhaps once yearly to verify if it is growing in size or producing any hormones which can then produce symptoms. You may visit and consult an Endocrinologist if needed

Need exam: A painless nodule of the neck could represent a sign of many different problems.  You need to see an otolaryngologist for evaluation and management.  This likely would include a biopsy; possibly a fine needle aspiration biopsy.

Not usually.: Calcification in a pulmonary nodule almost always indicates a benign cause, usually a granuloma or hamartoma. However, calcification can also be associated with  malignant lesions. The pattern of calcification demonstrated on a ct scan may be helpful in distinguishing a benign from malignant cause. However, any nodule that increases in size may indicate a malignancy and should be biopsied.
