i was diagnosed with sinusitis. blood results; platelets are a bit low. my symptoms are fever aches pains clear diherrea nausea. was my diagnosis true?

I do not know: Sinusitis diagnosis is made on clinical exam most often, and can be supplemented with a CT scan as well.  Certainly diarrhea and nausea are not often associated with diarrhea, but that does not mean you did not have a sinus infection on top of those symptoms as well.

See your doctor: These symptoms can only be adequately diagnosed only after a thorough evaluation by your doctor.  This may include labs and other satudies.  Once all of the information is in, your doctor can let you know what's going on, and what to do to help you.

May: Along with the viral syndrome , a variety of symptoms.
Ache over any of the sinuses, runny nose, fever, malaise, nausea etc.

Worrysome!: you could have a sinus abscess, or an laryngeal abscess go see an HEENT specialist.

i have sinusitis taking flucoxilin for  it, some  pus and blood has drained from it leaving an open sore in my nostrils how long does it all clear up ?

Sore on nose: Use some bacitracin on the area or polysporin (bacitracin and polymyxin) or neosporin two to three times a day.  It will get better in a few days.  Good luck and feel better!

Diagnosis: How do you know if you have a sinus infection?  Was a CAT scan performed? You can have a rapid Strep test or a regular throat culture to document if you have a bacterial infection.  Remember, the great majority of upper respiratory tract infections are caused by viruses.

can sinusitis cause a bloody sore nose? my nose is very dry and crusty but keeps bleeding and not healing

NO: Sinusitis alone does not cause a bloody nose! Its DRYNESS ...YOU NEED HUMIDIFICATION in your bedroom at night and going into your bathroom running HOT water in shower until the room STEAMS UP!!!(2X/day)
Do this for 7-10 days and the dryness, crustiness and bleeding from that crust will stop!!!!
If not  See an allergist!

for 2 days my son has been having headaches all day, ear aches, and when he bends over it hurts even more. he nose always feels stuffy, so sinusitis?

Otitis media?: This is possible. He is old enough to irrigate his nose and sinuses with a saline solution using a Neti-pot. Get a decongestant, expectorant, analgesic combo from your friendly pharmacist. If he does not get better very quickly get him to a doctor. Hope this clears up soon.

can symptoms of bacterial meningitis be very mild and potentially go undiagnosed?  and can a sore in the nostril cause sinusitis and/ or meningitis?

No and yes: Bacterial meningitis is never mild and more often life threatening if not treated.  It would be amazing if not diagnosed in american medicine.  But the infection source could be nasal or sinus, but also skin, bloodstream, and lungs.

have sinusitis. i notice that i get an aching pain on the right side of my neck during a sinus headache. doc said it wasnt carotid. what could it be?

Muscle aches: This could be just muscle aches from sinusitis which causes some tension in muscles.
