Check with doc: Your friend needs to be checked out by a doc. Especially if he cannot even talk. Watchful waiting is not an option. He/she may need antimicrobials, nasal steroids or more. Asap.

Take full course: I'd keep going with the cefdinir it until it's all finished.  I am not sure how long you've been taking it but if you are on days 1-7, have faith and keep going.  If you have any new fever, or are having additional symptoms after one week on meds, that would be time to return to your doc for re-evaluation.  You're on a potent antibiotic, so I bet you'll be feeling better soon.  Rest and fluids!!

A bit more time..: Not sure whether your main complaint was congestion (inability to breathe through the nose) or facial pain/pressure.  I's not uncommon for a true sinusitis to take 3 weeks or even more to clear.  Saline nasal rinse is always a good choice but if symptoms persist (or worsen) may be time to see your doctor or an ENT.

It may be related: Those two are different problems, don't always go together. however if you have a sinus drainage issue with possible sinusitis, i.e., headache, stuffed nose, airways blockade , poor sleep, etc. it may exacerbate or worsen  the stress and tension levels. On the other hand, stress and tension if not treated it lowers inmune system and it may prompt you to all kind of  infections like sinusitis.

Post-nasal drip?: This may well be material draining out of the sinuses, irritating the back of the throat.  You might try nasal irrigation with saline, or use of a netti-pot for sinus irrigation.  You can get this from your friendly pharmacist otc.  Worth a try.  Good luck.

When : When the internal nasal lining is irritated it can create more mucous than normal. This can then lead to a chronic runny nose or post nasal drip.

A nasal examination by an otolaryngologist can help determine what may be going on inside your nose. Allergy testing can also be helpful in some cases.

Anti-allergy pills (prescription or over the counter), anti-inflammatory or anti-histamine nasal sprays (prescription), or salt water lavage are all possible treatments that can help with your problem.

Sometimes, a chronic sinus infection can cause chronic posterior nasal drainage. If there is a concern for this based on your examination additional treatment or sinus ct scanning may be recommended.

Eye drops: No.  There is no direct connection between your eye and the back of your throat.

Postural.: If your head is tilted forward, most of the liquid will drain back out of your nose;  the rest may drain into your sinuses or eventually get reabsorbed into the lining of your nose..  You should avoid getting plain water up your nose as it can be irritating or force bacteria into your sinuses.  If you're using a saline nasal spray, you should lean forward slightly then blow your nose gently.

Nose spray: You need a nasal spray to control your symptoms, consult your primary and eventually you need to see an allergist to determine your triggers and get adequate long term control of your symptoms.

i had a very bad bloody nose 2 days ago and i still have blood draining down the back of my throat. is this normal?

: Not normal, but seen in practice. It has to do with the cause for the nasal bleed and that is where it becomes critically important to have proper follow up with your primary care doc and/or ENT if established.
