Strange smell: Zinc is related to our sense of smell and taste.  See your doc to rule out medical conditions and ask about getting your zinc level measured.  If low you can supplement. Be seen: You need to be seen and evaluated. Could be gastritis (stomach inflammation) or an ulcer. In the meantime, stop spicy foods. Try eating more soups- not cream based soups. Try nux vomica homeopathic remedy 3x a day. Even if you feel better you still need to be seen. Also consider acupuncture and chinese medicine. Hope you feel better soon!

You need a diagnosis and the appropriate treatment for your problem. That means no home remedies are available. An examination is how you will get the right diagnosis and the right treatment. Go to the doctor today. You are an adult.

Cough is often due to bronchitis/airway hyperreactivity and can be treated with inhaled steroids/antibiotics and stepwise asthma treatment. Evalution could start with breathing function tests, xrays (chest/sinuses), cultures of throat/sinus/sputum.

Although this sounds a bit to the contrary, using a spray decongestant such as afrin, neo-synephrine, 4-way, or Vicks for a few days can constrict the swollen vessels in the mucous membranes of the nasal cavity and sinus openings and give relief.
