ENT Surgeon: Hydrodebridement  and Sinus irrigation is procedure for tacking people with Chronic Bacterial Sinusitis. It is a specialized  procedure that should be done by a trained physician or therapist in an office setting. ENT Surgeons would be the best doctors to consult for this procedure and whether you actuallyy need it or not.

Usually isotonic: Just about every patient will benefit from isotonic solution - my favorite is neilmed brand.

May be normal: It may be normal as we do not know exactly what kind of sinus surgery you had.If it persist,follow up with your Doctor/ENT Surgeon

Accepted Answer

No this is incorrect: Sinus irrigations have not been proven to worsen infection risks (unless you are irrigating with non-distilled potentially contaminated water instead of saline).

There's no magic number on irrigations to eliminate infection risk.  If this was a typo and irrigations could decrease infection risk this is feasible--by washing out irritants/allergens if causes less inflammation and the like.

after using a sinus irrigation bottle,i felt dizzy when i blew my nose. is this cause for concern?

Dizzy: One time occurrence should be fine,  You probably had inner ear issues with a mild decrease in pressure of your Eustachian tube when blowing your nose.  If your dizziness continues, then get and evaluation. best wishes.

had septoplasty. is neilmed sinus rinse bottle as good as electric sinus irrigation kits? are the electric kits hard to keep sanitized?

More important is: the source of water used. Make sure it's not tap water, and that it's distilled water to reduce contaminants and improve safety. Also, rinse your unit well with soap and water with a final rinse with distilled water before drying daily. You want to keep your unit as clean as possible.

: It should help. If it does not, you can use Nasonex or Nasacort in between.
