can a bladder infections cause mid back pain?

Accepted Answer

Yes it can!: A bladder infection can occasionally work its way up from the bladder to the kidney which is in the mid-back area. If the kidney gets infected, it is much more serious.

Tensing of your back muscles from the bladder infection can also cause back pain from crampy tensed muscles.

Best to call and see your doctor to let the doctor determine if the kidney is infected as well or not!

i am 15 and i am a virgin but i have had a uti for 5 months, i dont know if it is normal. the only kidney infection signs i had are mid back pain and nausea, why is my uti lasting so long i stay hydrated and wipe properly is this normal?

Not normal : Unclear if you have UTI or not. Your symptoms are not “classic” but can’t say one way or other without physical and urine exam. See a doctor

what could cause upper abdominal pain and mid back pain?  i've been on a picc line for antibiotics to cure a staph infection for the past 5 weeks.

Get examined for: Stomach, gallbladder, liver, spleen, kidney, and intestinal inflammation or infection. Take care!

i just finished antibiotics for uti and  i am having mid back pain. no fever or painful urinating. just peeing a lot. can this be kidney infection?

Culture?: If you have urinary frequency, I would go immediately to your doctor and give another urine sample. If there were culture results from your UTI, they are used to direct treatment. If you had a complicated UTI with flank tenderness/fever/chills the treatment should be longer in duration and involve a dose of IV or IM Ceftriaxone in my opinion. You should also have had a full STI panel. See MD

Usually not diarrhea: All those other things yes - nausea, back pain, sweating.  Usually you don't get diarrhea with kidney infection.  I'd see a doc and get a urine test to check it out.  Good luck!

Pain: There are many causes of back pain: strain, cardiac ischemia , arthritis, herniated disk, gastritis, kidney problems among many others. See physician for evaluation.

: That would be a very uncommon presentation for gall bladder disease but without a thorough history and physical it would be hard to tell. You may wish to start there. Gall bladder disease is typically diagnosed with history, physical, ultrasound, and scans

The pancreas: Is in the back of your abdomen, close to your spine.  If you have sugar issues and back pain, my thoughts go to the pancreas first.

MIdback pain: Where do you feel the numbness? Where is the mid to you?At the lower end of the rib  cage or between the shoulder blades?I I use the terms "thoracic, " spine with ribs "lumbar" ribs to pelvis "thoracolumbar" where the two join. Thanksfor the question.
