i had c-section. it was 4 weeks ago. can i lift weights above 5 kg without any risk of internal bleeding etc.

Accepted Answer

Yes: You should be sufficiently healed such that bleeding is not the problem.  You state "above 5 kg".  You should be careful and not lift beyond what your obstetrician has recommended for the post surgical event.  Use common sense and if it strains or hurts, don't do it.  You can herniate your abdominal wall if too much is done.  Start low and go slow and if questions, ask your OB and follow orders.

am told i have fluid collecting and would dissolve.  one stitch opened  am bleeding ,is it a good sign  or not?

Concerned: Stitches from a surgery in July opening are concerning as they either should have reabsorbed or be removed. Bleedings so many month later at the surgical wound is certainly something that needs addressed promptly. Call your Obstetrician and if they are not available an urgent visit to your Emergency Room is warranted.

i have only had around 3 weeks of non bleeding since 22nd august 2012 since a planned c-section, i have had an internal ultrsound which was clear?

See your doc: Depends if you are breastfeeding, are on contraception or have an iud. I think you should not accept bleeding for so long. You may get anemic or have a thyroid problem. Sometimes hormones help. If you are breastfeeding you can have some breaktroughbleeding due to a thin lining, so go back and ask for help.

wife had a c section and her incision area is very bruised almost black at the bottom. it isnt tight. how would you know if there was internal bleeding? her hemoglobin came 9.2 after surgery then 5.5 sat after. got transf went 7.5? no pain or sympto?

: The wound has to be carefully examined by the MD who did the surgery who may additional tests eg Ct scan or Ultrasound

abdominal pain or swelling or feeling light-headed, dizziness, or fainting , external bruising called ecchymosis or headache if the bleeding is inside the head.

Signs of hypovolemia: Blood loss after gallbladder surgery will be minimum , especially with laparoscopic surgery , most of the time  loss is no more than your blood tests , if excessive internal bleeding progressive rise  of pulse rate will raise , fall of b.P. Excessive drainage of blood if there is a drain , if untreated hypovolemic shock.

Can be serious: Severe internal bleeding can be quickly life threatening. Severe internal bleeding would most likely occur from a major accident or knife or gun penetrating injury. Rapid loss of blood pressure, passing out, rapid heart beat, unconscious, abdominal pain, anemia, etc.

Variable: If into abdominal cavity, pain, anemia, weakness, etc.
If into bowel: positive stool for blood, or black stool, or frank blood with BM.
Upper intestinal bleeding may have nausea, vomiting and hematemesis-- vomiting blood!

Severe pain: Trauma severe enough to cause intra-abdominal bleeding will likely result in severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fast heart rate, low blood pressure, dizziness, and worsening tenderness of the abdomen. The presence of any symptoms just listed should prompt an immediate trip to the nearest emergency room without delay.

i just noticed blood coming from my rectum. is this a sign of internal bleeding?

Yes: Could be local at the anus with hemorrhoids, but workup must include other sources.
