i had a leep procedure 7 weeks ago. i still have sharp pain in my lower abdomen radiating down my vagina sporadically and extreme bloating since the procedure. could this be a complication or infection?

: If the symptoms are new to you since your procedure, and they do not seem to be resolving, then you should talk to the surgeon who did your procedure about it. It is not clear whether this is related to the procedure or not. Good luck.

i have a lower urinary tract infection, i had a leep procedure on the 11th of auguststill bleeding ,i have a fractured sternum without injury. i got covid in between all of this. what is going on here am i cursed or should i be tested for something?

: Most likely these conditions are separate and not related. Bleeding disorders have though been associated with COVID-19. Complete the COVID 19 vaccination aeries.
Watch for signs of shortness of breath.

its 3 weeks after leep procedure and on having sharp pain like an electric current attack like 6-7 times then goes away on its own and then get it again after a few hours the same way. is it nerve damage or infection or something else?

Accepted Answer

: It can take 4-6 weeks for a complete recovery after LEEP so pain may still occur after 3 weeks. Nerve damage should not happen with this relatively simple procedure but infection may but it should be presented with abnormal vaginal discharge. Please call your GYN doctor if any other symptoms besides occasional pain. You can take advil OTC for a couple days and see if you can suppress that pain.

first time having intercourse after leep. had a foul odor don't know if its a infection or because he did his buisness inside of me. ?

Bacterial vaginosis?: The most common cause of foul vaginal odor is bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. BV often occurs with odor only and little or no disharge, and odor often is most noticible after sex. It is possible colposcopy and LEEP could trigger BV, or maybe just a coincidence. This should be easy to diagnose and treat; see the doctor who did the procedure.

hi, i had a abnormal pap(previous one was 8years ago). tested positive for 8 high risk strains including 16. had a leep, results came back cin3 with no clear margins.
what is the next step? does cin3 take long time to get since first infection of hpv

HIgh risk HPV ?'s: With high risk (for causing cervical cancer) types of HPV, and results of a LEEP procedure with diagnosis of "CIN 3 with no clear margins", unfortunately, a wider LEEP may be required to reduce the risk.  See your GYN for further treatment.

how will i feel after the leep procedure?

Accepted Answer

Easy to recover from: A leep procedure is typically done in an office setting under local anesthesia.  Placed properly, the local anesthetic makes this a completely painless procedure.  There is not usually any pain even after the "numbing" medicine has worn off.  None of the patients i've treated in 22 years of practice have ever required prescription strength pain medicine.  Ibuprofen or Naproxen is all that's needed.

If you just had a : Leep your doctor should have told you everything to expect post op like a brown discharge, heavy bleeding or bleeding that gets worse is not normal and since u are in the immediate post procedure period if u have any concernsor questions you should contact your doc 24/7.

Accepted Answer

Doesn't hurt: With a leep the cervix will be numbed with local anesthetic.  You may feel some heat but nothing should hurt.  The local anesthetic injections may be a little uncomfortable.

was about to have a leep procedure lidacain and eminepherin was used. instant severe headache bp shot to 190/100 (i am usually normal) was i allergic?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: The most likely cause was injection of the medication inadvertently into the blood vessels directly. Epinephrine is a potent vasoconstrictor and can cause dramatic elevations of blood pressure when injected into the vascular system. It is often used during cardiac arrest intra cardiac for just that reason.

what to do if i have the leep procedure?

You'll be fine:): Talk to your doctor- it is a very quick procedure usually done in the office.  Your doctor will use a speculum to locate the cervix, numb it with anesthsia (may cause little pinching) and remove the face of the cervix with a special instrument.  You may have some mild cramping, but procedure is quick and tolerated well.
