Muscle strain: The common cause would be a muscle sprain.  Do you skateboard or snowboard?  Rest and a heating pad.  If pain worsens and fails to resolve or if you develop fever, vomiting or are unable to sleep, you need to see a doctor.

If one had been constipated for a while, stool could have backed up the right side, and cause pain. Having excess gas sometimes causes pain. A gallstone, muscle strain, nerve irritation, kidney problem, or hernia problem can cause pain.

Muscle in nature: Sounds like a muscular pain trigger by the work you did .Recommend a short course of tylenol (acetaminophen) and ibufrofen in non allergic to, and rest .It should be a self limiting condition , if it persist than i recommend to be checked.
