Few: Usually there are few if any side efeects. You can get diarrhea, stomach ache, vomiting, headache or rash. Pretty safe antibiotic.

Not always Strep: I recommend you go get strep test or even strep culture again as white spots do not indicate strep. Viral infection can present with white spots also.
