Dual: Chamber preferred if sinus rhythm present...No difference in potential complications.

Soreness : Pacemaker implantation is a routine procedure for experienced operators.    While there are risks to any procedure, the risk of serious adverse events with pacemakers is quite low.    Most people commonly are a little sore and may have some swelling in the area for a few days.

what kind of side effects can i expect after my pacemaker is replaced?

Infection: The main risk associated with pacemaker replacement is infection.  This risk is a couple % and seems to be higher than the risk with original implants.  There is also a small bleeding risk.

Low: There is an ongoing small risk of infection. There is also a small operative risk associated with changing the pacemaker and the wires that attach to your heart. Sometimes the old wires need to be removed and this carries a risk as well. There is  very low risk of device malfunction. Very rarely patients can develop weaker heart muscle from chronic pacing. All combined the risks remain low.

Long life: The long term side effects of av sequential ("dual lead") pacing is that you should lead a long and healthy life, assuming you don't have any other illness! the pacemaker battery will need to be changed periodically which, at your age, will add to up many changes over the course of the next 50 or so years. (maybe they'll invent better batteries? I'm sure they're working on it.).

Yes but.....: Low dose of Aspirin (81mg) is usually quite safe but leave the decision to your cardiologist.

i have a pacemaker (icd) can i saftley make a tattoo? the machine can cause problems for the icd if i do it on the same side as the pacemaker?

Wouldn't : Recommend a tattoo anywhere near icd.

is my gas pacemaker interfering with cardiac pacemaker? it is placed on the same side as the cardiac pacemaker and i feel some cardiac abnormalities.

They are not : Suppose to interfere between each other. I do not know what cardiac abnormalities you referred. But, call the cardiology clinic to check the pacemaker. They  can do that from your home. Good luck.

can you tell me if a wire came off of my pacemaker/defib. and i am having right sided chest pain could it be my heart?

Pacemaker/defibprob?: Wire "coming out" of a pacemaker/defibrillator is not common. If you are having a problem with yhour implanted device you need to see your cardiologist as soon possible who can arrange for your device to be interrogated. At sucvh visit other causes of your right chest pain can be evaluated. Please do NOT delay this doctor visit.

i have sharp pain from my palm to my neck in my left side. i have narrow neck but i can't have mri due to pacemaker. anything i can do to help pain?

Other Tests: Would want a diagnosis before definitive treatment. Options include CT, X-rays and CT myelogram. May have disc or bone spur impinging on nerve in neck.
