Uncommon,: However two side-effects from drugs like Omeprazole can occur: osteoporosis, and magnesium deficiency, which can certainly encourage muscle cramps.  Because they shut down virtually all gastric acid secretion, to some extent pancreatic malabsorptive issues can also occur.  Iron absoption is challenged, as is b12.

Get second opinion: I do not know why you are on 2 medications for GERD/hyperacidity.

Palpitation is not one of the side effects of zantac.

Cause of palpitation needs to be investigated.

Avoid caffeine &amp; see the effect

palpitation can be caused by asthma medications.

can zantac cause heart palpitations? started taking 2 weeks ago along with 20 mg omeprazole and started having palpitations. trying to wean off ppi as per doctor's order. i took zantac before and never had a problem. can this be side effect zantac?

Probably : Arrytmia can be a side effect of zantac, although rare, you may want to stop it, and see if the palpitations disappear, if not you want to see your doctor, best wishes, I had to retract my previous answer after researching the issue
