is it advisable to pluck all 4 wisdom tooth all at once under local anesthesia! is there any side effect after that? please advice. thanks

Depends: Under local only, many people have one side worked on at a time to preserve an unaffected side of their mouth for chewing. Others only want to go through the experience one time and opt to get it all done at once. The latter strategy makes more sense if IV sedation or general anesthesia is used but it is really up to you unless your particular medical or surgical considerations dictate otherwise.

Here are a few: The most common are elevated heart rate, extended numbness, and bruising. There are less well known ones but the commercials on tv have a list of about one hundred that they have a speed reader rattle off for most other drugs, so in general it's pretty safe.

Probably unrelated: These issues you describe are likely unrelated to local anesthesia. Local anesthesias usually wears off in 4-6 hours.

MRI needed: While there are some benign reasons for developing a numb area, you really need a formal neurological exam and probably an mri.

Probably normal. : Sometimes it can take a few hours more for all the sensations to return after local anesthetic.  By tomorrow if you don't feel normal then consult your dentist or an oral surgeon.

: This symptom may be related to the infection. I would recommend a neurologic exam at acute care today. If there is associated loss of taste or smell, this is a relatively common association with the infection. The sudden nature of the onset is of concern, please see acute care today. COVID 19 may be associated with embolic complications. Watch for signs of shortness of breath, chest pain and fever

No: If you drink alot your liver my be used to a higher metabolic rate,  but in general no.

what effect will street drugs have on local anesthesia?

Accepted Answer

Depends on the drug: It is not recommended to use street drugs prior to any anesthetic.  Any procedure involving local anesthetic could potentially require further sedation or general anesthesia and interaction with street drugs could be dangerous.  You should not take any prior to a procedure and you should let your anesthesiologist know if you have.
