Blood vessel: Injections in the neck travel past many different blood vessels.  Sometimes they can cause blood to track in arm.  Other cause can be more severe.  It is best to notify the doctor that did the injection.   Get examined and verify the root cause. There are too many variables to predict exactly what is happening.

First see someone el: I think that you should get another opinion from a sports medicine doc or another spine ortho doc.  If you have shoulder pain i don't think it is t6 or t5, ...I would first have someone take a look at your shoulder so a sports doc can see your shoulder and your back..A shoulder ortho surgeon can see your shoulder...Get another opinoin.

Maybe, maybe not: Steroid injections can take up to 7-10 days to start working, so be patient. I've seen patients where the injection told 2 weeks to work. If you get no relief, whatever they injected is probably not causing your pain so your docs will need to look for another cause.

Or the cause of the pain may not be the site where the "Jab" was given.
See your Doc again and let him know and ask him about it, as he might be having a "Plan B" for you.

Shoulder pain: There are many causes of shoulder pain that do not show up on MRI.  If the steroid is injected into the shoulder and an MRI is done immediately after, the study may show some fluid (the steroid that was injected) in the shoulder.  Steroid however, will not reduce the sensitivity of an MRI study in finding shoulder problems.  It sounds like you may benefit from a good shoulder examination.

Steroid Injection: Typically, a long acting version of a steroid is used and is mixed with a local anesthetic to minimize the pain at the injection site and also within the joint.  You should start to experience pain relief very soon after the injection.  I'm not sure what your current limitations are, but after the injection, you limitations should be fewer and you should feel better.

See below: You mention two very different diagnosis (and injections).  Cervical epidurals (for disc herniated discs) and cervical facet blocks (for spondylosis) are both very effective.  If you have failed pt other than traction I am not sure what other conservative treatments there are.

shoulder pain can have multiple causes including pain that actually originates elsewhere and is called referred pain.  Your symptoms may represent a frozen shoulder, but i recommend seeing a shoulder specialist to establish a clear diagnosis first.
