Sounds muscular but: While this sounds muscular, the diffuculty breathing makes me worry about any possible lung involvement. You need to be evaluated by your primary care to rule out pulmonary disease then decide on proper evaluation of your pain.

Hurt to breathe,C Dr: If it hurts to breathe, and you're out of breath, and your pneumonia is getting worse, then it's time to go to the er. It's not wise to go to the er just to get an mri. That can be done electively. However, anything emergently needing medical care, in which your life is at risk, needs to be taken care of  immediately. Also, smoking can make this worse. So don't delay.

i keep gettin shoulder pain in my right shoulder, 1 min it can be fine next it hurts even wen i breathe what could it b? help please!

Referred pain : It sounds like you have "referred pain"  - pain that starts somewhere else and then recruits nerve fibers that send the pain elsewhere. I say that because the pain with  breathing suggests a primary problem in your lung or pleura i.e. Pleurisy. The pain then radiates to your shoulder. Do you have fever? You need a chest x-ray.

Not clear: Typically if pain is related to movement it is muscle related. You need to also consider pneumonia or in your age range to consider, though unlikely, a blood clot especially if you are on birth control. Heart disease or inflammatory diseases are something to consider although less likely.   See your doctor for a full exam and history.

Go  to ER: If you got a severe shoulder pain that is not relieved by Codeine with chest pain, perhaps you should go to the er for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Need evaluation :   This could be chest wall muscle pain, pain from inside the chest sometimes call pleurisy, pain from your heart, sometimes call pericarditis, or some other reason. You need to see your physician to get this evaluated.

i have had shoulder pain and rib pain for about 6 months. losing mobility of my arm. hurts ribcage when i breathe. no break in ribs, 3 were displaced.

Complicated: If you have lingering displaced upper ribs, you may have something called thoracic outlet syndrome. Easy to test on physical exam, have your pcp or sports med doc examine. If no one has checked your cervical spine, make sure that has been checked out also to rule out radiculopathy. You might also consider manipulation by a chiropractor or do for the  displaced ribs. Hard to say : Would need more info and exam.  If it has been fairly recent swollen nodes can cause similar symptoms and are often associated with a viral or bacterial infection.  A good medical checkup would probably be a good place to start.

Not the shoulder: The typical causes of shoulder pain are not exacerbated by deep breathing. However, one can experience pain from the diaphragm that is referred, or felt, near the shoulder. There are many causes of diaphragm irritation. Since it separates the chest from the abdomen, problems from both can cause irritation of the diaphragm which can be referred to the shoulder. Get it checked out by your doctor.
