Basil and pesto: In general, there does not seem to be a risk to humans related to consumption of foods containing estagole compounds. Research related to carcinogenicity is in mice at high doses, not at intermittent low doses consistent with human consumption. Pesto-containing food ingested intermittently should be safe for a toddler.

Honey can contain spores of a bacterium called clostridium botulinum, which can germinate in a baby's immature digestive system and cause infant botulism, a rare but potentially fatal illness.

Confusing question: Bovine milk in high quantities can cause small amounts of intestinal bleeding. Kids who develop an unhealthy pattern of excessive bovine milk consumption can become anemic enough to need a blood transfusion.Most recommend no &gt; 16-20 oz/day, which seems well tolerated. Any food/formula consumed in excess of need can cause problems. You can work out the age related specifics with your doc.

Yes, that can: happen. If the child hasn't seen a doctor at this point in the illness, I would recommend you take him/her to see if there is anything that can be treated. The milk may exacerbate the diarrhea, but if not, it's a decent source of fluids. Keep trying, though, to give some solids for a little more nutrition.

Variety of good food: Healthy foods include natural foods that take time to chew but have few calories. Examples include carrots, celery, and lettuce (little or no salad dressing). When selecting fruit, buy small ones no bigger than a tennis ball, because fruits have sugar. Drinks without calories include water and green tea. Avoid sugar and simple starch calories. Eat some protein with each meal. Snack on a few nuts.

Gout and diet: Alcohol and organ meats are the biggest offenders.  A low purine diet can be helpful, but medications to control gout are generally very effective.  See your doctor.

Nothing: Toddlers are usually picky eaters.  Some days they may eat well, and others not so well.  I would make sure your child is not getting more than 8 ounces of juice in a day, and no more than 24 ounces of milk daily. I would also recommend a 3 meal a day 2 snack a day schedule. In addition, it may take offering a new food 15 times before they try it.
