i had lice for a long time , and my lymph node on back right side of neck is enlarged , lice is removed but lymph node is still swollen , why?

Infection: Lymph nodes enlarge as your body tries to fight off infection.  The nodes in your neck are probably enlarged in responce to any scratching or breaks in the skin you have on your scalp from the headlice itching.  It will go away with time.

2_-4 wks: Lymph nodes are located throughout the body & generally noticable in exposed areas like the neck. They are usually pea sized at rest and enlarged when stimulated by bug bites, dermatitis, drainage or infection. They rarely can become damaged by infection & grow to golf ball size & need drainage or removal. Most enlarge and later shrink back down within a 4 wk cycle unless chronically stimulated.

having the front and right side of thyroid removed due to lumps, i have pain shooting up the side of neck into ear, it's a sharp pain is it the lumps?

Thyroid lumps: Usually lumps in the thyroid do not cause pain, but they can be associated with pain, if the thyroid gland is inflamed. It is common for an inflamed thyroid gland to be associated with ear pain. If you are having the lumps removed, hopefully, the biopsy will tell you if the gland is inflamed.

i'm a wreck now i have pain in my left side of neck feels like a lump in lymph node. had a lump removed about 2 years ago. no cancer. feels the same. tylenol seems to help pain..such a wreak always in pain?

Wait for report: Wait for biopsy report  , if it is benign, it is post operative reaction   and  will subside in couple of wks , speak to your surgeon  if any treatment(s)  are required based on the report.

Neck arthritis: There are several joints and intervertebral discs in the neck.  These can wear out over time leading to pain.  Degeneration of the joints or discs can cause neck pain, headaches, and shoulder pain.  You can also get neck pain from a muscle strain.  In some cases pain in the left side of the neck could be related to your heart so be sure to see you physician.

Over time these joints can "wear out" leading to degeneration and inflammation of the joint.  When a joint becomes inflammed it often swells due to increased synovial fluid. When this fluid is forced out of the joint it is common to feel and/or hear a "pop".
