Overdone: If you want to waste your money , go ahead. The end result is, youre going to pee it out without any benefit gained from the extra vitamin.

Depends: Your cholesterol levels will determine how much you need. Your doctor will usually start you out at the lowest dose and work his way up based on tolerance and responnse to therapy.

Vitamin: If you are taking a multivite with commensurate low dose of niacin, it shouldn't be a problem. The doses of niacin we use to lower high lipids are much higher and these area what the warning is about.

bought hair la vie vitamins 4 hair. i got a reaction . an agent on phone said it was  called a niacin flush.that should take w/ big meal. is this safe?

Niacin flush: If the reaction is due to niacin then you would want to take an aspirin 325 mg 30 minutes prior to the vitamin containing niacin.  This will prevent the flush.  Also a meal with some fat in it is helpful.

Problem?: You have a few health issues, and though getting up once or even twice may be normal for an older individual, it may not be for a young man or female.  Get a check up, or discuss this issue with your physician to make sure this is not a prostates issue, and infection.

Use a real Rx: Forgive my frankness. Beyond an economical multivitamin-with-minerals, these "health pills" are worthless for acne and are probably not doing you much good in any other way. If topical benzoyl peroxide has not cleared you in two weeks, get with your personal physician who can add something that will. Best wishes.

It depends: First of all, magnesium is a mineral, not a vitamin. Vitamins are not a substitute for a healthy diet but it is reasonable to take supplements for prevention. Most people don't need calcium supps- evidence suggests this increases risk of atherosclerosis! i don't advise red yeast rice for most. Magnesium deficiency is common- see my comment for a link to see if you have symptoms of low magnesium.

Niacin is involved in dna repair, production of steroid hormones in the adrenal gland, and is a precursor to nadh and nadph that play vital roles in sustaining cell health. Severe deficiency of Niacin in the diet causes the disease pellagra, which is characterized by diarrhea, dermatitis, and dementia.
