PE?: First i'd say ask your md, instead of strangers online. Second, i assume you mean the "study" was to look for pulmonary embolism.  If you have a pe, and we wait for the study to prove it before treating, you could die.  The risk of bleeding from a blood thinner is often less than the risk of untreated pe.  Medicine is simply weighing risks and benefits, but the catch is defining them precisely.

Follow up: There may be conditions related to the delivery and pregnancy which can cause these symptoms. A chest radiograph and visit with your PCP is indicated. If you have shortness of breath, please also see the emergency room. Infections, emboli, and asthma are among possible causes.

Flu like symptoms: Please check your temperature, drink fluids and rest. You may be at risk for an embolism, and a HRCT may be indicated as well as D Dimer screening. If you have symptoms only at night, try a proton pump inhibitor before bedtime and gauge response.

If still sob after: Had a cold but not sick any longer then a workup for reactive air way should be done.See your dr for a full history and physical . Labs cxr and pfts would be reasonable  start. May also need allergy testing if indicated.

Deconditioning: Most likely, if you have not been exercising for a while, you have become deconditioned. It will take some time for your body to adjust to exercise. Unless you are coughing or have other symptoms of exercise-induced asthma, I would encourage you to keep up the efforts. Start for 15 minutes per session, &amp; gradually increase the number of sessions &amp; duration to 30 min to get best results. Keep at it

See your Dr: If you recently had surgery i would recommend seeing your surgeon as soon as possible. It is not normal to have shortness of breath after this type of surgery. It could be nothing but I am concerned that it may be that you may have a pulmonary embolism.

Hard to say: Unfortunately, it's hard to determine exactly what's going with the limited symptoms you describe; though it's not common to have shortness of breath after eating.  It could be possibly related to reflux or microaspiration(as in food going down the wrong pipe).  With shortness of breath, you'd probably be best served with an in-person evaluation by your doctor.

See dr.: It is not normal to be short of breath while at rest. It may be time to see a physician for a pulmonary and cardiac exam, vital signs, etc. Please see a physician  and when next short of breath, ASAP.

Pneumonia: There is a condition called post pneumonic asthenia which can take months to resolve after pneumonia. However you should see your Doc to be checked to be sure that something else isn't going on.
