Pain in the back of: The hip radiating down the leg is often sciatica, or inflammation of the sciatic nerve.  Usually not serious, but can be quite painful.

Muscle hurt: May have over worked or over stretched a muscle. Consider using ice, and an anti-inflammatory, as long as not allergic, or have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart or kidney disease.

Need more info: Could be your hip. If acute onset-was there a precipitating accident. Could be hernia, high lumbar radiculopathy pain. How did it start. You should get evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon, physiatrist, or sports medicine specialist.

Get med-check up: You should notify the surgeon who did your surgery and ask him/her to check you and find the cause for this problem and seek treatment from the same doctor who did the surgery.

No, but evolve to...: Scar is forever and will not disappear completely, but evolve through its expected healing process, which is most noticeably over the first 6 months after surgery and maximize its maturation around 2 yrs. How to handle such post-surgical pain? Time &amp; patience are the best medicines. So, it is ok to just watch and see as long as slowly but surely getting better day by day. There is no magic around.

i have hypermobility in all of body. when walking i will occasionally have shooting pain at top of leg where connects to pelvis, what could it be?

Could be  hip: At that location consider  hip , muscle of thigh or knee. Each of the joints are  limber so we  coudl see this.  Have you had dislocating joints? Your physicain can help evaluate this

Talk to your doctor: That pain could be caused by a number of things. However, at your age, the most likely reason could be intermittent compression of a branch of the sciatic nerve on that side. You should be examined first, and if your doctor feels that nerve compression could be there, an MRI could be helpful. If there is a disc herniation, and the pain is persistent and severe, an epidural injection could help.

hi. i had a hysterectomy in november last year (not sure if relevant) , last week, i was getting sharp shooting pains in the left side of my hip, almost groin area, theyre slightly better but today a sharp shooting pain in my left thigh.

Hip pain : The hysterectomy probably is unrelated to your hip and thigh pain.  If your ovaries were removed, get an exam to determine if you might have a blood clot in your left leg, and if not, an ultrasound may reveal a left ovarian cyst.
