when it comes to lymph nodes how big is bad. like lymphoma?

Depends: It really depends on location.  On ct scans, some nodes over 8 mm are considered abnormal, some need to be over 10 mm.  However, in some cases, in certain areas, just seeing lymph nodes is abnormal.  Also, sometimes we see too many nodes, even though they are not enlarged, and that is abnormal.

i can feel the litle lymph nodes on the side of my 4 yearolds neck all the time they are not enlarged i can just feel them is that a bad thing ?

Location and Size: Lymph nodes in 4 yr old are normal unless large, painful or in wrong location. Small, round, firm, painless along chain in front or back of neck is normal. Increase in size with response to inflammation, i.e. Allergies/uri. Abnormal if large, painful, external skin changes or associated with systemic symptoms such as fever, fatigue, weight loss, rash- and should be evaluated.

hey i'm just wondering if it is normal for both of my occitipal lymph nodes to be immovable? there both pea sized and haven't changed in 2 months. i've read online that immovable nodes are bad. that's why i'm concerned?

: You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

: Pea sized lymph nodes in the occipital area could mean a number of things but you already know it has to do with the scalp mainly. If any injury happened to your scalp even hair cut could affect the lymph node sometimes because of small nicks and cuts. That they are not movable may just be due to tight muscles. If you are engaged in high risk activities that may have caused exposure, see a doctor.

: Moveable or not, two pea-sized lumps probably are not abnormal. This sounds like nothing to worry about.

Have it checked out: Lymph nodes that are swollen and painful constantly may be a reflection of chronic infection. The enlarged lymph nodes may also be a manifestation of lymphoma which is a type of cancer that affects the white blood cells and is localized to the lymph nodes. This should be evaluated by your doctors.
