: The person can try it out and see how comfortable or uncomfortable the act it. One non-functional figer should not prevent writing though the speed of writing is likely to be impaired.

Idiopathic: Most forms of scoliosis do not necessarily have a source or cause unless your son has a developmental or congenital neuromuscular abnormality.  Curves may progress during the growing years but usually stop progressing when the spine matures.  The curve may then worsen as the spine begins to degenerate with age.

Cactus spines: If you feel there are remaining spines, see your doctor again or let then dissolve. It is possible with the symptom that they may have irritated a nerve. Watch for any signs of infection, swelling, redness or drainage. If infection is a concern he may need an antibiotic. Keep the area clean and try applying an ice pack. All the best.

See a doctor: I highly recommend she be evaluated by a physician.  She needs a full evaluation to see the source of the odor.  There could be a mass that is ulcerating through the skin, a pressure sore that is becoming infected, just to name a few.

: I'm afraid that all bets are off now with your question because, as time has gone by, we are finding that antibody levels following covid infections are all over the place in different people. Some immunity lasts months but in other cases not very long, as little as a month.

Yes, but not common: Eczema in the underwear area is not common because it has more humidity and isn't too dry. The area also doesn't get scratched as much. If there's eczema there, it's usually at the top of the butt crack.
