A not uncommon issue: Post shingles sensitivity/tingling in the surrounding skin is common as the nerve in which the shingles virus inserted itself loses it's covering and may take upto a year to reform it and lessen the burning/stinging / sensitivity etc .

Yes: Shingles usually occurs in a dermatomal pattern. Therefore it is one sided pain. If you have pain in both legs or feet then she must look for another diagnosis. Perhaps referral neuropathy? Annie

Post-herpetic neural: Post-herpectic neuralgia refers to burning, tingling, stinging, electrical shocky, icy cold pain in same area as healed shingles blisters. Check out http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/postherpetic-neuralgia/basics/definition/con-20023743. So it's difficult to explain why you're reporting symptoms at a distant site from your shingles. Poorly controlled diabetes? Vitamin B12 deficiency?

Not sure...: I am sorry to say this is just not enough information to determine if it is or not shingles. Just tingling could be a number of things, including early shingles, but it does not mean it is shingles. It could be so many different things that we would need more for the diagnosis. I am sorry i cannot be of more help on this specific question. If you have a history of shingles, would suggest it more.

Shingles: Three to four days after the prodomal stage, the shingles rash erupts. Usually, it will be on only one side of the body. The rash is comprised of many tiny watery blisters that are more painful that they are itchy; the nerve roots that the varicella virus transverses often cause a sharp, pinlike sensation merely on palpation of the rash. The blisters scab in about 5-7 days.

No: I say no because u said intermittent, so am presuming this has been going on for a while. Commonly, tingling or some sensation...Itchy, pain... Occurs prior to the outbreak of the rash of shingles, but generally this happens within 10 days.  The rash is like crops of tiny blisters that occur along a nerve path on only one side of the body. Likely tingle will resolve on own. If not, c the doc.

Rashless shingles: It is a common misconception that one has to have a rash to be diagnosed with shingles.   It is not that rare to have pain, itching and other symptoms due to shingles without any visible rash. The symptoms should however still occur in what is called a dermatomal distribution; one that corresponds to a typical nerve territory.
