See neurologist: I don't believe you have shingles with so many areas of the body involved. However if you have painful blisters , it may be a serious condition and a dermatology consult is recommended.

HERPES ZOSTER: 1.	Varacella zoster-chicken pox
2.	11.	Treatment with antivirals and tca initially
a.	Reduces incidents of post herpetic neuralgia 
3.	Initial symptoms include nonspecific (malaise, fever, headache)
4.	Develops to mild to severe sharp, stabbing, shooting, throbbing 
5.Sometimes burning, itching, pins ; needles
6.Skin lesions, rash follow but not in all cases and is unilateral
7.Rarely recur.

Not the usual site: If you have been DX'd with shingles, it might have spread to such a place, but that is not the usual starting site and not usual even then. See a Dr for such a DX - other rash issues can often be treated well. If they finf that you do have shingles, there is treatment but it's best to get it early. So have an exam. Best!

Shingles?: It can be this small. If you had a swab which confirmed shingles, I would believe it.

Probably not shingle: See Dr. Shingles will produce a line of little blisters and scabs. Acyclovir given at proper doses and started on first or second day may shorten shingles, but not immediately.

Prevent chickenpox: If you have never had chickenpox, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you get the chickenpox vaccine. This is an easy vaccine to take and should protect you from exposures like this. The thing is, you've 'already' been exposed just by being in the same room with your aunt. I would try to see an Infectious Diseases doctor -they are experts with this disease. Do you know if you every had antibody tests?

Ice for pain: Ice or a cool compresses decrease the pain of shingles. Ice can be applied at least 15-30 minutes continuously every hour. This has helped my patients with shingles find relief at bedtime, so they can get the rest they need to recover from this systemic condition. I hope this helps your friend!

Not likely: Shingles is moat often attributed to the chicken pox (hsv family), not genital (hsv2). Dr can test, if indicated for clarification.
