does shaving hair for girls change the nature of the hair?

Not really...: Shaving hairs anywhere on the body is ok (as along as one does not create a skin rash by shaving too closely or getting too many ingrown hairs). Since the portion of the hair that is outside of the hair follicle is not alive, one's body does not know the hair has been cut (so cutting hair does not affect anything inside the body). The cut ends feel stiffer and sharper until they wear down again.

Shaving pubes: Insure you use fresh, sharp blades vice dull blades. If hair is &gt; several mm long – then trim before shaving. Wash area before shaving – warm water helps to soften hair. Use a lubricant when shaving. Avoid using products that contain alcohol or are scented.  Shave in direction of the hair – not against it. Be gentle when shaving – don’t push down too hard. Moisturize skin after shaving.

Genes and hair: No. Shaving your head will not change your genes. If you are not eating enough protein in your diet that may be a place to look for better hair growth.

Cream, but...: Depilatory creams dissolve hairs so that they wipe away.  The hair left behind is usually softer than if it had been shaved.  Razors cut hair at an angle, making the regrowth look thicker & more likely to develop ingrown hairs & razor bumps.  The major downside to the creams is potential irritation & you need to use caution near the mucosa (mouth, vagina).  Electric razors are a good option, too.

Shaving: If you are not having hair bumps you can clean area daily and shave whenever you want to shave. If you have hair bumps you shave daily in one direction. A direction that will give you either no bumps or the least number of bumps. Gillette has excellent products for shaving.
