i was eating tortilla chips and swallowed a sharp piece which has caused pain in my throat. what should i do to relieve the pain?

Chip chip: Such abrasions in your pharynx normally heal by themselves. They can be caused by a variety of foods that are hard. For temporary comfort you can use ice chips. If there is swelling then salt water gargle may be very helpful in reducing the swelling. It should improve in about 4 days. If not then please see your primary care doctor for better evaluation.

i accidentally swallowed a piece of sharp tortilla chip and i felt it scratch the back of my throat will this lead to something more serious or will it just digest im worried about cutting my throat or esophagus and having internal bleeding?

Do not worry: If you have not had any more ill-effects than scratching of your throat, you should be okay.

See GI doctor: You may have esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus) due to acid reflux. There's a small possibility you have a condition called eosinophilic esophagitis if you've had recurrent episodes of food getting stuck, especially soft solids (like rice, pasta, breads, etc). Best way to diagnose this is with an upper endoscopy.

People don't : always feel when something is stuck - but usually they do. It sounds like it was small - so hopefully it  will pass through your GI tract .

Tonsillar Enlargment: Its pretty unlikely that 3 ents missed a tonsillar abscess or foreign body, as you can often see this without otolaryngoscopy. Having said that, the sensation of "something stuck" can be extremely irritating, and new enlargement of one tonsil might warrant a ct scan of neck. Most often its due to "tonsillar crypts" that accumulate bits of food and form "tartar-like" granules. I'd recommend a scan.

Have a sore throat?: Typical sore throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), EB virus causing mono, or from some other cause such as allergies, irritants, or stomach acid reflux. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat).

Worse when u : wake up?Do you have recurrent nasal congestion which would cause mouth breathing while sleeping?Or consider reflux acid burn up into throat.Need exam.
