Find out more: You need to find out more about the benign tumor that you have mentioned on the rib cage. Your doctor should be bale to guide you further, both in terms of pain control and resolve or remove the so called benign tumor if this lesion is felt to be the cause of your pains.

my mri showed a lipid-poor hemangioma at my c5 level. i have been having some severe nerve pain in that area that radiates to might right arm as well as sharp pains in my rib cage area on the right side. what is my next step?

Most likely cause: To consider is a rib fracture.  Since you don't share any further details in regards to him or his complaints it becomes difficult to make any further comments. If its a rib fracture the treatment is symptomatic meaning you treat the pain and the fracture gets better with time. I would take Ibuprofen for the symptoms up to three times a day and consider being evaluated by your internist. Good luck.

I would see a doctor.  Get examined.  They might take a chest xray and or rib films.
