Many possibilities: Many muscular or bony structures in this area can cause pain--as well as breast problems. It seems best to wait until after your next period before being concerned. If the pain persists then, exam is appropriate.

YES.: Heavy lifting can cause strain of any of the involved muscles, tendons &amp; ligaments.  This can include muscles of the ribcage, shoulders, back and abdomen.    I generally recommend "taking it easy", staying comfortably active and taking OTC pain relievers as needed for a few days.  If the pain lasts longer than that,, gets worse or if new symptoms occur,  medical care is recommended.

hi i had a sharp shooting pain on the right side of my breast that came and went on saturday three times and today a had like a sharp tining pain on my right nipple no breast changes  just concern?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor, if the symptoms persist. If you gained weight recently, that may be causing it and losing weight would be imperative.

Rib cage: Sharp,shooting pains in the rib cage area under the breast may be due to a pinched intercostal nerve which runs between two ribs and is aggravated or brought on by a deep breath usually. Gall bladder or right lung problems also can produce discomfort in that area. See your Physician if symptoms persist.
