yesterday i got a very sharp pain around my eye socket. it stayed for few seconds.what must have been the cause?

Lightning pain: This is a common happenstance which ophthalmologists term "lightning pain".  It does not indicate anything wrong, certainly feels like a needle poke, but in a few seconds ends and leads to no problems that anyone has ever experienced. Don't worry about it, and it might happen a few more times.

while crying i had a sharp pain under my eye; felt like it was pulling my skin into the eye socket. there is some residual pain.

Eye pain: Go see an ophthalmologist (eye doctor) as soon as you can. They have special tools where they can look at all of the structures both inside and adjacent to your eye in great detail. He will be able to tell you what's going on.

Irritation of the: one of the cranial nerve in the area from sneezing. Probably the change in sensation in the area is temporary. If it persists see your doctor.

Swelling?: If you are having swelling or pain in the eye socket itself, this may require more urgent evaluation.  Pressure in the maxillary sinus under the eye can cause similar pain and can often be relieved with saline nasal rinses and antihistamines.

: Although there are several ocular issues that can feel like "eye strain" such as inflammation (uveitis) and ciliary body muscle strain from focusing (accommodation), what you're describing seems more likely to be extra-ocular. I would suggest an evaluation with an ophthalmologist to rule out an ocular cause and then to see an ENT to check out the sinuses that surround the orbit.

what does having a strong pulse in the middle of your head and a sharp pain in your right eye indicate?

Migraines: You could be migraines. Try icing the area for a few minutes (5-7 minutes) and see if it helps.  You will most likely benefit from tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen.  If it is a severe headache with any other symptoms, contact your pcp or a neurologist.

Ophthalmologist!: An ophthalmologist eye doctor should evaluate eye pain to make sure it is not something serious than can damage a person's vision. New symptoms of pain in the eyeball, losing part of the visual field, or just distortions in the visual field can be checked out by the on-call eye doctor in the E.R., if it is after hours or on weekends/holidays.

Inflammation: You may have inflammation of the conjunctiva for another part of the eye I would suggest you see a physician and get a definitive diagnosis test
