for last two days i have noticed sharp pain behind my belly button for a brief second. comes and goes isn't constant. any ideas?

Gas: Most common cause is gas. Trying lying on the bed with your shoulder down and your backside way up in the air. You'll know when the cure happens. Lol.
Gastritis is also a possibility, but usually lasts longer. Its pain is relieved temporarily by an antacid.

Pain when pregnant: Pregnancy can be a very uncomfortable and physically demanding time for your body.  There are a lot of changes that occur with your pelvic organs during this time.  Even subtle baby movements can cause sharp pain.  If you develop nausea and vomiting, high fevers, or inability to pass gas or stools, see your doctor immediately.  Otherwise, maternity belts, rest, and Tylenol (acetaminophen) are recommended first.
