Maybe: Twirching of the extremities, as you describe is common as part of opiate withdrawal symptoms. In fact, that's the origin of the expression: kicking the habit. So, you need to discuss this situation with your prescribing physician to best determine why you might be in withdrawal symptoms. I wonder if you are leaving it under your tongue long enough and are not getting the full dose? Good luck.

i've had a numbness like falling asleep senstation on right side of head comes and goes for a month and a weird twitching on left temple. stress?

Unclear: Since you are being treated for a sinus infection situation is more complex.  Pay attention to what part of right head goes numb.  Nerves to anterior skull are different from nerves to posterior skull.  The fact that you are young and symptoms are on opposite sides of head makes possibility of concerning illness less.  Stress can cause non-specific, wierd symptoms; but caution when infection.

Need evaluation: During that interval between wakefulness and sleep there is some normal shifting around of arms and legs.  This does not normally require treatment.Anxiety can make these movement more pronounced and when anxiety is treated they lessen and sleep comes more quickly.
Sometimes however when the restless movements are very  bothersome they represent restless legs syndrome (rls) and need meds.

hi my 11 month old little girl is teething badly at the moment, also think she has a bit of a cold coming on, was exhausted after only 1 hours sleep all day, tonight after falling asleep she keeps "jumping and twitching" is this anything to worry about ?

No.: You should consider giving her pain relief medicine like acetaminophen or ibuprofen in age/weight appropriate doses for comfort. That way, she can get a good night of sleep. Topical numbing agents such as Orajel or Ambesol have fallen out of favor and should not be used.

Possibly: New onset severe headaches need to be taken seriously. It is possible that it is a migraine-sort, but if this is something new that has not been addressed by a physician, I would recommend that you be seen in person for evaluation.

Hypnic twitching: There is no set number of normal or abnormal twitches.  This can be a natural reaction to our body losing muscle control during sleep.  When overtired or excessively sleepy the number of twitches tends to increase.

You know: I'm not sure what that great big twitch is called either. I just call it a jerk that is involuntary ( you have no control over it) and yes it is completely normal!

Most likely benign: Nocturnal myoclonus at onset of sleep cycle is normal activity, but if sleep is disturbed and such activity continues throughout the night, this would be a variant of RLS termed Paroxysmal Limb Movements of Sleep, and would need evaluation and therapy.
