Cerebral palsy: Based on age and weight the child should be eligible for a Baclofen pump, a pediatric neurosurgeon could easily do the assessment to see if the child is eligible.

Get help: I would not hesitate to see a specialist if you have not seen one lately to see if it is possible if any surgery, bracing, and/or therapy would be of any benefit to get you more functional.

No: There isn't a helmet to wear with which a person could adjust his "brain waves" to slower, normal, or faster. Weird things would happen to us if we just slowed our brains. Human brains are ultra complex, and we would not function normally if we slowed our brains. To help CP, it would be nice to be able adjust signals among nerve cells and signals to various muscles, but we don't have that ability.

can an eye doctor use nitrous oxide during a regular eye exam? i have quadriplegic cerebral palsy and i use nitrous oxide during my dental cleanings. it really helps me control my uncontrolled movements.

Can=yes/will=?: I know of no eye doctor or other regular practitioner that would keep nitrous oxide around for use. You can contact various offices &amp; ask, but I would be surprised if any would. The paperwork &amp; storage requirement for something like this they would seldom if ever use would make having it the exception not the rule.

Varies: The primary systems involved in CP are the muscles and nervous involved in movement and maintaining posture. Abnormally high or low muscle tone and impairments in the control of these muscle are the hallmark of cp.Other systems can have associated problems, like seizures, visual defects and more. This is a broad diagnosis that varies from very mild to quite disabling, so its features  also vary.

Common form of CP: Spastic diplegia refers to the part  of the body most affected by cerebral palsy. Diplegia means two limbs. In the cast of spastic diplegia it is the legs that are affected. But most children with spastic diplegia have some level of difficulty with their hands or arms as well but it is much milder than the involvement of the legs.
Spastic refers to increased tightness or tone in the muscles.

Depends: Spaasticity is good and bad depending upon its functional effects. You only treat when it is hindering function....One can treat with oral agents like Baclofen  if tolerated. Next step would be if generalized spasticity is to be treated then Baclofen pump; if focal spasticity to be treated then Botox or phenol injections.
