Infected?: If it is red and hot it may be infected. If you think that is possible then see a doctor as soon as you can. Infections can become more serious if left untreated. If it is not red and hot try some cool compresses and hydrocortisone cream to try do decrease the itching until it resolves.

Joint Effusion: Usually this represents significant fluid in the joint post injury known as a joint effusion.  You may need to get in to see your family physician for an exam.

Swelling?:  Usually swelling due to a knee injury does not extend all the way down the leg. It makes me concerned for a possible blood clot, or DVT. If that is present, it is an emergency to get it taken care of. If your entire lower leg is swollen, I would go to the emergency room . Do not delay. Good luck.

Tight Hamstrings: Typically this is from low back issues (like bulging discs). Please turn your mattress, get a new mattress, sleep more on your side than back (stomach sleeping the worst for low backs), and also stay very hydrated.
