i take 150mg of zoloft (sertraline) so i have to cut the pill in half. someimes i get this severe burning in throat shortly after taking it.is this normal? cures?

Depending: Depending on how old your son is ... This shouldn't be a problem. Zoloft (sertraline) is generally indicated at 25 mg. for ages 6 and up. Just head back to the lower dose tomorrow. Hope that helps!

Not necessarily: It depends if you are splitting the pills and  now taking too low of a dose- that could cause a recurrence of depressive symptoms. But in general, it should be ok to split sertraline. The pills have a "score" which means it intends for the patient to cut or split it.
