No definitely not: Zyvox, or linezolid, has great activity against Gram Positive bacteria. Serratia however is Gram Negative. Those classifications have to do with the structure of those different classes of bacteria. Make sure you ask your doctor 'what' is the rationale for treatment. Hopefully there is Gram Negative coverage included in your regimen. An Infectious Diseases doctor may be needed if things get tough

Time heals!: The physician who ordered the wound culture should know whether or not Clindamycin is the most appropriate antibiotic.  Hopefully, this is either the surgeon or an infectious disease specialist.  I would give the antibiotic at least a week to show improvement.

Commensals: Without white cells on a smear, very likely these are harmless microbes that just happened to be living there.

Maybe but less likel: Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) is an immunomodulator and can certainly increase the chance for certain infections. I don't think it is a very significant amount of increase though. On the other hand, Stenotrophomonas tend to be seen in individuals that have had recurrent exposure to different antibiotics. I would guess you might have had recurrent sinusitis (or other infections) where you were treated with abx.

i express breastmilk for my baby and have noticed that if i leave my pump overnight that there is a pink tinge of the residue breastmilk. google has said its a sign of serratia marcescens and its dangerous. should i still be feeding my baby my milk?

Sanitize bottles.: Breast pump bottles should never be allowed to sit for long periods of time with residual milk, because of the risk of bacterial/fungal contamination. The bottle should be sanitized thoroughly before using again. Serratia is a bacillus found naturally in soil and water. It would not be found in your breast. Contamination would only occur if your bottle was not sanitized.

Probably nothing: Transient colonization of the oro-pharynx with gram-negative bacteria may occur in normal individuals.  If it persists it may be due to smoking or some underlying defect in upper respiratory immune functions.  Generally, however, this will clear fairly rapidly.  This organism has a fascinating history, and may have helped alexander the great topple the city of tyre in lebanon.
