No: Oxazepam is a metabolite of Valium but not xanax (alprazolam). It is a drug prescribed itself. Like Nexium (esomeprazole) is a metabolite of Prilosec (omeprazole).

45-90 mins: It is one of the most slowly absorbed of this class of medications (benzodiazapines).  The peak blood level would be about 3 hours after taking it.  Caution with all of this class of medications:  do not mix with alcohol.  Serax can also be habit forming i.e. One can become dependent upon it after taking it for a longer time at a higher dosage.  Do not stop if abruptly without talking to a doctor.

Yes: Both are benzodiazepines. Benefit and side-effect profiles are similar. So too are the drawbacks: addiction potential, sedation, confusion, respiratory depression. Emotional depression.

SHOULD BE: I do not know any contraindications. Serax is the brand name for Oxazepam which is a benzodiazepine and advil (ibuprofen) is Ibuprofen and analgesic in the non steroidal anti inflammatory class.

i started taking serax for withdrawal symptoms from oxycodone.  i take 4 per day-15 mg each.  i am very worried that this may show up on a drug test on wednesday.  i took my last dose at 6 pm last night.  will i be ok?

The only way: to do this is to bring the SERAX bottle/with clearly written label/(Prescribing M.D or if possible the Prescription itself and give to the collector PRIOR to providing the test! 
It  is much HARDER to explain a POSITIVE test AFTER the result is reported!

No: This would not be a recommended combination as both are benzodiazepines. I cannot think of any reason to take both together and the interaction could be harmful.

Serax...: ...is the old brand name for oxazepam, a mid-potency benzodiazepine.  It is used for anxiety and sleep.

Alcohol is an central nervous system depressant just like benzodiazepines.

Taking the two together can cause greatly magnified effects leading to respiratory depression and death.
