Yes: Be sure to practice proper ergonomics.  If your at a keyboard, use a wrist rest, keep wrists straight and don't overextend or flex while typing.  Take breaks to stretch the tissues across the wrist- usually flexion/ extension of the wrist, hands, and fingers.  Try to keep items you use frequently close at hand to avoid repetitive reaching and grasping.  Carpal tunnel syndrome is an overuse problem.

Stretching: There are many things you can do. Forced hyperextension of the wrist might help. Wear a cts splint at night to prevent you from curling the wrist (fetal position) while you sleep. Avoid excessive repetitive motions or unatural positions ( I use a mouse pad pillow support ).

Carpal Tunnel: The theory with exercise is to "work out the pain, " like many pro athletes do. But the inflammation from the repetitive wrist injury needs to be addressed, which is why the pro athletes combine a regimen of therapy and exercise. Nsaids may reduce the inflammation and ice the area after exercise, and see if that helps. Otherwise, you may not be able to exercise until you tackle the inflammation.
