Take your own meds: It is taking your own medications.  I assume you are asking about patient control analgesia (pca).  You get a button to self administer medication for pain.  You are prevented from getting excess by a lock out interval between doses and by only pushing it your self (no family help).

Not in the US: I presume this is a long-acting cortisone injection which should never be used without a doctor's supervision. Cortisone has many serious side effects and you should not use it in a willy-nilly manner.

RICE: R - rest, until the injury heals. I - ice, for about 20 minutes at a time, applied directly to the injured area, for as long as there is pain or swelling. C - compression, use of an elastic ace bandage or neoprene knee sleeve that may be purchased from the local pharmacy. E - elevation, keep the injured knee above the level of the heart. Medications such as Ibuprofen or Naproxen may also help.

Nobody knows, but...: Truly homeopathic "medications" are made by repeated dilutions, so that the ingredient is not really in the medication anymore (just the "essence" of it remains). That means there is no active ingredient left to cause any benefit. However, that also implies that the homeopathic "medicine" should be pretty harmless. Other non-homeopathic ingredients are often added and may have scents and flavors.

Enema: I am not familiar with a "to n fro enema", and I am wondering who recommended it.  If a doctor recommended it, then they or their staff should explain what to do.  If it it something you are trying on your own, I would encourage you to not do it. I would: use the fleet brand of enema or the drug store version which is generally 6-8 ounces. Be sure to be lying down on your left side with feet elevated above hips and try to hold enema for 30 minutes or as long as you can. You can repeat if no results in 6 hours. IF that doesn't work you need an exam to be sure your problem is constipation and not something else

i am having a transperineal prostate biopsy. the directions indicate that i should take a fleet enema the day before the biopsy. i live alone and it may be difficult for me to administer an enema to myself..can the biopsy take place without the enema?

: Yes, enema needs to be done to clear up the rectum because the ultrasound probe has to be placed in the rectum for guiding the biopsy needle even with transperineal approach.
