Floaters: Floaters are old cells some embryonic that are in the liquid of the eye.  These are usually not pathologic but can be evaluated by an Ophthalmologist.  If interfering with vision seek apt right away.  If vision is good these will become ignored.

i'm seeing orange blurs from my right eyes and a couple times blue from my left eye. seems like it is in my peripheral vision. what could cause this?

See your eye doctor: You may be experiencing ocular migraine that appears as multicolor phenomena, but to be sure, your eye doctor can help you out best. Best to see what s/he finds out when doing a complete dilated fundoscopic exam.

i am noticing heat waves rising from my peripheral vision (temporal and bottom) mostly in left eye in dark.they are continuous.don't see after sleep?

Ocular Migraine : These are called scintillating schotomas- part of the ocular migraine or ophthalmic (also called ocular) migraine.  Patients have spasms of the arteries at supply the eye and get these symptoms. Temporary loss of blood flow causes temporary sight loss.  If it persists or interferes with daily activities then go to your primary care doctor for an exam and treatment.

the last couple months, i see slow flashes of light in my peripheral vision in right eye. it lasts a few seconds and goes away when i move my eyes?

When rt eye closed?: How do you know it's in your right EYE (as opposed to right FIELD of VISION)? Do the flashes of light (fol) go away when you close the right eye? Do the fol only appear on the right side of your body? Both eyes contribute to the sense of vision on the right side. Either retina could've detached, or you could've some other problem. 1st step: See an ophthalmologist for a complete eye exam. Good luck

It is possible that: symptoms of this nature are related to a neurological or other systemic disorder. Potentially multiple sclerosis. Ask your health care provider for a referral to a neurologist for evaluation.

Peripheral vision: Peripheral vision is the vision that is not straight ahead.  Loss of this means absence of this vision.

Flash of light: Seizure? Cholesterol emboli that moves on? blood clot from heart or artery in next that is small and moves on. Any Hx of trauma to eye? If persists go back to Eye Dr. Let us know what they find.

Ophthalmologist: This problem mandates a real-time (face-to-face) meeting with a doctor.  A history has to be taken along with a examination as well as labs and other tests.  Only after all this will your doctor be in a position to tell you what's wrong and what needs to be done to help you.

White dot: White dots are not a typical finding from eye trauma-- this could be a partially opaque floater or a retinal tear-- seek care from your local eye doctor...

Flashing: Seeing Flashing lights: due to either traction of the vitreous gel in the eye on the retina (which is an extension of the brain &amp; makes the brain sense flashes); if you have new floaters or "see" a curtain coming over your vision, see eyeMD asap. Ophthalmic migraines are visual symptoms (like seeing flashing lights) without a headache. See your eyeMD to be sure it is not a new retinal hole/tear.
