Anti-inflammatories: Secondary dysmenorrhea is usually due to a physical problem like endometriosis, uterine fibroids or polyps. Medications like advil or Aleve (naproxen) (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories= nsaids) can help and usually have little side effects. In general it is better to treat the cause if it is secondary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorhea is usually hormonal and responds well to nsaids.

Age 45 &amp; cysts: It is not uncommon for cycles at this age to be anovulatory and contain ovarian cysts. The cramping however, is usually reserved for women who are ovulatory. If it persists, see a GYN MD.

NSAID's: Avoid caffeine, alcohol, extra salt & junk carbohydrates.  Increase complex carbohydrates – try to incorporate at least 5 servings of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit into your diet daily.   Try: omega- 3 fatty acids. Try to take in magnesium either through supplementation or through your diet with your doctor’s approval.  Non –steroidal anti-inflammatory medications can help with pain control.

Absolutely: First line of treatment is usually an NSAID or cousin to aspirin.  The best otc option is Aleve (naproxen) or naproxyn, 400-500 mg twice a day, starting several days before the cramps start.  This will usually prevent the cramps and often other symptoms as well by preventing the production of prostaglandins in the body.  Next line is hormonal birthcontrol which decreases flow.

excruciating pain like period pain without bleeding. i couldn't move for about 20min. this happened just after i peed. i'm currently on medication for bladder infection, also had d&c on the 10th dec. please help, what is happening to me?

Bladder infection.: Since you recently had a D &amp; C; you were probably catharized to empty your urinary bladder.  Increase four clear liquid intake.
You might try some cranberry juice.  I would empty your bladder as often as possible.  Probably would avoid a lot of carbohydrates.

i've just had an excruciating pain like period pain but without bleeding. this happened after i peed. i was laying down couldn't move for about 20min before the pain  got slightly better. i'm on bladder infection medication. had d&c on the 10th dec?

See your Dr.: Possible a kidney/ureter stone. They can occur when there are infectious material binding to calcium and oxalate crystals in your urine. Just to be sure, you should be seen by a Dr. Preferably one who knows your history or performed your D &amp; C. Could also be a complication from this.
