Less processing: Sea salt is less heavily processed and therefore has a coarser texture and may have more base minerals remaining in the mixture.  Also, table salt has added iodine.  I don't know that sea salt is per se "better, " but those pursuing less heavily-processed diets often seek it for that reason.

Salt is salt: Your body doesn't really care where salt comes from. There is no meaningful difference.
Salt in reasonable quantities is not particularly dangerous in pregnancy but can lead to more swelling of the ankles and feet, a common pregnancy-related problem, and is a problem if you have high blood pressure.

Myth: Sea salt is also sodium chloride; it purportedly tastes better; however from a chemical standpoint, its sodium content is exactly like table salt (except no added iodine). Same as salt: Sea salt is simply mostly ordinary salt with a few additives for color and occasionally taste.The basic element is ordinary salt and that is the same as any other salt.  Your body needs salt, but not an excessive amount so sea salt should be added as part of your sodium intake.

Marketing: Sea salt theoretically is the salt remaining from collected, filtered and dried sea water.  However it would contain a lot of minerals, some objectionable.  So it is probably purified salt with some additives for taste and color.  The prices I have seen for this are astronomical but marketing deserves congratulations for making something so common, a pricey item.

Yes: New piercings are usually cleaned twice a day. Do not twist  jewelry / post. Saturate gauze w saline solution (pinch of sea salt in warm water), place on piercing &amp; allow it to gently drip into the piercing.
