SEBORRHEIC DERMATITI: Rx to remove scales from seborrheic dermatitis are:  tar shampoo, 2 percent salicylic acid in olive oil, corticosteriod lotion,  2 percent Ketoconazole Cream or Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo used daily until dandruff is controlled, twice a week thereafter.

my 2 month old son breaks out real bad on his face all the time his dr. said its seboric dermatitis is this permanent and what's the best home remedy?

Accepted Answer

Atopic dermatitis: This is more likely to be atopic dermatitis.  He needs a good, thick emollient at least two times a day to the area--try truelipids ointment or cream.  It is the safest, most non-toxic option out there.  Go see a dermatologist who has a lot of experience with this disease.  I have many many helpful things that i teach my patients, but cannot type them all here in 400 words or less.

Accepted Answer

: That type of hair loss is temporary and will regrow when the condition is successfully treated and you no longer have to scratch your scalp aggressively.  A dermatologist can validate this for you if you still have concerns or need appropriate treatment.

can i get hep c or hiv from touching urine bottle don't know if any urine on it with scratches and dermatitis as glove broke?

Hepatitis C in urine: While hepatitis c can be found in urine specimens, transmission by this route hasn't been reported.  Most occurred via blood (before testing available) sharing needles, needle sticks & rarely via sex.   Hcv is less transmissible than hepatitis b but more-so than hiv.  That is not to say that hcv can't be transmitted via urine or saliva & that care should be used when dealing with all body fluids.

See a dermatologist: "Allergic dermatitis" is an incomplete diagnosis. You must see a skin specialist for exact diagnosis and specific treatment. Do not fool around with naive practitioners. You need a dermatologist.

i have an itchy rash on my bikini area that sometimes sort of leaks fluid, only when i scratch it. looks a lot like dermatitis, but i don't know.

Contact?: It may be from a contact allergy or an irritant.  Stop using any anti-static agent  or softener when drying your clothes and re-wash all of your underwears before wearing. If your rash developed within a few weeks or months after switching to a new detergent, be sure to go back to the old one.   In the meanwhile , try topical hydrocortisone cream. If the problem persists, see dermatologist.

Dermatology evaluati: This type of problem needs to be evaluated by a dermatologist as different causes of dermatitis require different treatments.  Unfortunately there is no simple answer.  Good luck!

im 18. i suffer from premature hair greying, but not due to genetics. the cause is a chronic dermatological disease, atopic dermatitis. can i protect my hair from turning grey even if i can not permanently cure atopic dermatitis?

: I am not aware of atopic dermatitis directly causing grey hair.  Suggest that you see a dermatologist for evaluation of your greying problem and some other possible causes.

do deep vertical lines on fingers (palm side) after healing from a 2 weeks contact dermatitis ever go away or are they permanent? my skin on the palm of the hand is hardened, sensitivity is decreased and full with deep lines up to the fingertips?

: It will heal. Give it time. You may apply an emollient to help in hydrating the skin. Avoid anything that you may be allergic to.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.
